Ensuring that the development of human society becomes more sustainable for the long-term is a vital goal for us all in the 21st century.
Our aim is making cleaning sustainable together and within our daily needs. We understand the importance of cleaning with less resources such as materials, fuel, paper and energy, whilst continuing to deliver a good level of performance. From our Head Office to our supply chain partners and everything in between, our choices have always included the consideration of our environmental footprint and social impact.
With ISO14001 (Environmental Management) accreditation in place, our approach to continuous improvement includes our dedication to all aspects of sustainability.
Promotion to Raise Awareness of Water and Electricity Usage
Britannia have now introduced a variety of cleaning regimes and equipment that are designed to reduce water consumption and energy use. With the use of Ultra-efficient lithium ion battery powered vacuum cleaners the efficiency gains from moving a vacuum cleaner from the floor to a backpack reduces vacuuming time by 30-40%. This reduction in run time, cuts the electricity requirements too, leading to greater energy efficiency across the building.
I-mop – Faster & More Hygienic Scrub Mopping
I-mops use a fraction of the water of traditional mopping equipment, reducing environmental impact by up to 75%. Our suppliers estimate that global I-mop usage to date has saved 156 million litres of water from going to waste.
Introducing Guidelines on Waste Management
We believe it is of benefit to offer our clients guidelines for segregation of general waste, recyclable and non-recyclable waste. We also offer our clients waste collection data information to enable them to monitor their sites performance and to set realistic targets of minimising waste, working closely with leaders in the disposal of waste in the South East.

We have access to a range of ecological cleaning chemical options, including.
• EU Ecoflower approved commercial cleaning products – non-harmful, effective products.
• Biological stain and odour treatment solutions – naturally derived ingredients.
• Eco-dose concentrate chemicals – cut plastic waste up to 95%.

Tiaga Consumables
We use and supply toilet paper that is fully UK-made, supporting independent British businesses and protecting our supply chain, as well as reducing the product miles of the finished goods compared to imported products.
The Tiaga range of ecological paper products priority was to reduce environmental impact as far as possible without compromising the quality of the product. Also, the transport emissions and packaging waste have been reduced and the paper remains as good as you’d expect.
CO2 and Plastic saving reporting
To help you achieve your sustainability objectives, we can keep you informed of the differences your environmental choices are making. Every delivery note shows the CO2 emissions saved by the products on that delivery, and we can provide monthly or annual reports for the improvement across your estate. It means you can know how much difference these product groups really make to your overall environmental impact.
